Beyond the tactical steps of clearing our feeds, this guide is an invitation to slowly tune back into the rhythm of your own heart.

This guide is an invitation to move from information to integration. It is designed to help you identify the specific “hum” of overstimulation in your own life and create a sanctuary that is rooted in your values rather than the world’s expectations.

Before you begin, I invite you to create a small pocket of peace for yourself. Light a candle, pour a cup of tea, or simply find a corner where you won’t be interrupted for a few moments. Grab your journal and let’s walk back to the center of your own life together.

As you move through each section, I invite you to be gentle with yourself. There is no right or wrong way to reclaim your peace. Some sections may feel easy, while others may stir up a sense of resistance. Stay with it. That resistance is simply the sound of your sovereignty returning.

Take a breath. Silence your notifications. This time, and this space, belongs entirely to you.

With so much love and sovereignty,

Kimberly

How to Use This Guide

Each section below is designed to be moved through slowly. You do not need to complete this all at once. Listen to your intuition—if one section feels particularly resonant, linger there. If another feels heavy, give yourself permission to breathe and return to it later.

The Quiet Revolution: A Guide to Take Back Your Peace & Break Free From Your Phone

<picture><img src="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!sosd!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F65c22527-4d71-4ac9-9888-f625c0b56c90_4820x3084.jpeg" width="1456" height="932" data-attrs="{"src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/65c22527-4d71-4ac9-9888-f625c0b56c90_4820x3084.jpeg","srcNoWatermark":null,"fullscreen":null,"imageSize":null,"height":932,"width":1456,"resizeWidth":null,"bytes":1423924,"alt":"A close-up black-and-white photo of a person with their index finger over their lips, signaling silence. We often live so deep inside the “noise” that we no longer realize how loud it actually is. This audit is not about judgment; it is about gathering data so you can make sovereign choices for your own sanctuary.

The First Touch. When you wake up, how long does it take before you reach for your phone? What is the very first app or screen you look at, and what is the physical sensation in your body the moment you see it? (Does your chest tighten? Does your mind begin to race?)

The Notification Jolt. Think about the sounds and vibrations your phone makes throughout the day. Which of these “pings” actually serves your peace, and which ones feel like an intrusion? List three notifications that consistently pull you out of your current moment.

The “Not Enough” Trigger. Recall a time in the last 48 hours when you suddenly felt behind, unattractive, or like your life was “missing” something. What were you looking at or listening to right before that feeling hit? (Was it a specific social media feed, a marketing email, or a podcast advertisement?)

The Consumption Hum. Look at your current digital subscriptions (streaming services, podcasts, news outlets). How many of these do you engage with out of habit rather than a genuine desire for depth or rest? Which ones leave you feeling “full” and which ones leave you feeling overstimulated or empty?

The Savings Trap. How much time do you spend scrolling through “deals,” creating wish lists, or adding to your future “to-buy” list? If you were to trade that time for five minutes of silence or a slow walk, which would provide more value to your soul?

The Invisible Crowd. If you were to imagine all the “voices” you invited into your home today via your screens—advertisers, influencers, and headlines—how many people were “sitting at your table”? Does that number feel like a crowd or a curated circle of friends?

A Note for the Soul: Awareness is the first step of reclamation. You cannot silence the noise if you haven’t yet identified where it is coming from. Take a breath and look at your answers. There is no right or wrong here—only the path back to your own voice.

<picture><img src="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!rN6G!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F9baa04c7-22ce-4c9b-8abc-08d73424648b_5500x4400.jpeg" width="1456" height="1165" data-attrs="{"src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/9baa04c7-22ce-4c9b-8abc-08d73424648b_5500x4400.jpeg","srcNoWatermark":null,"fullscreen":null,"imageSize":null,"height":1165,"width":1456,"resizeWidth":null,"bytes":1723949,"alt":"Open journal with a black pen on top, resting on a white surface. When we feel friction or exhaustion, it is often because our daily habits are in conflict with our deepest values. By identifying what truly matters to you, you can begin to see the “noise” not just as a nuisance, but as an obstacle to the woman you are becoming.

The Core Pillars. Look at the list below and identify the three values that feel most essential to your soul right now.

Presence | Simplicity | Depth | Creativity | Connection | Focus | Autonomy | Truth | Ease | Wholeness | Focus | Rest | Authenticity | Spirituality | Inner Harmony | Peace

The Conflict of Interest. Look back at your Noise Audit. Choose one value you circled above and ask yourself: “How does my current digital noise conflict with this value?”

Example: If you value Presence, but your morning is spent in a reactive loop of emails and alerts, the noise is actively stealing the very thing you value most.

The Cost of the Trade. We only have a finite amount of attention to give each day. When we give it to an algorithm or an advertisement, what are we trading away?

“By giving my attention to __________, I am choosing to take it away from __________.”

The Alignment Check. Imagine a day where every digital interaction was in total alignment with your values. What would your morning look like? What would you be listening to while you fold laundry or drive? Who would have access to your “inner sanctuary”?

Defining “Enough.” Marketing thrives on the idea that “more” is always better. In the context of your values, what does “enough” look like for you today?

Is it enough to have one streaming service? Is it enough to have 50 focused followers rather than 5,000 strangers? Is it enough to own exactly what you use and nothing more?

The Sovereign Filter. Moving forward, use your values as a filter for every new “invite” into your life. In this section, we build a “fortress” around your mental space. These tactical shifts are designed to move you from a state of reaction (answering the world’s pings) to a state of sovereignty (choosing your own rhythms).

The Morning Buffer. To reclaim the start of your day, we must protect the “First Fruit” of our consciousness.

The Invitation: Designate your first 10 minutes as a Screen-Free Sanctuary.

The Plan: What will you do instead of reaching for your phone? (e.g., a 5-minute meditation, stretching, watching the light change, or making tea).

The Notification Pause. If an app isn’t an actual person trying to reach you in real-time, it doesn’t need to interrupt your life.

The Action: Go into your phone settings. Turn off all notifications except for text messages and phone calls.

The Reflection: Which apps were the hardest to silence? Why does your nervous system feel it needs to be “alert” for those specific updates?

App Essentialism. Look at your home screen. Every icon is an invitation to leave your current reality.

The Purge: Delete three apps today that do not serve a functional, helpful purpose.

The Bypassing Hack: For apps you keep (like YouTube), try adding a direct thumbnail of a specific channel to your home screen. This allows you to go straight to what you need without being intercepted by the “suggested” feed.

Curated Connection. We are often overstimulated because we are watching too many lives that aren’t our own.

Words over Reels: Identify 3–5 accounts that focus on depth, words, and soul. Mute or unfollow everything else that feels like “noise” or “highlight reels.”

The Content Shift. Marketing is often hidden in our “entertainment.”

Audiobooks over Ads: If your favorite podcasts are heavy on product placement, try swapping one episode for an audiobook on a free platform such as Libby.

Intentional Streaming: Consider pausing one major streaming service. If you want to watch a specific documentary or movie, practice the “slow living” habit of renting it from the library or a digital store.

The “Silent” Screen. A screen that doesn’t “call” to you is a screen that has lost its power.

The Action: Move all social media or shopping apps off your main home screen and into a folder on the last page of your phone. Make it a conscious choice to go find them, rather than a reflex to tap them.

A Note for the Soul: Changing your digital habits can feel uncomfortable at first, like a “withdrawal” from the constant hum. This discomfort is simply your nervous system relearning how to be still. Reflection

Marketing’s ultimate goal is to convince us that we are incomplete and that the solution is a purchase. When we “hunt” for deals or chase the latest program, we are often operating from a place of perceived lack. This section is about shifting from reactive spending to intentional stewardship.

The Hidden Cost of Coupons. We are taught that saving a few dollars is always a “win.” But if a discount code requires you to stay subscribed to a marketing list that triggers feelings of inadequacy, the “savings” are costing you your peace.

The Audit: List two subscriptions you keep purely for the “coupons” or “sales.” How much mental energy do you spend clearing those emails or “browsing” the sales? Is the dollar amount saved worth the peace lost?

The Digital Buffer. Physical stores are designed to trigger impulse buys. Online shopping, when used intentionally, can actually be a tool for reclamation.

The Strategy: Practice “List-Only” shopping. Before opening a shopping site, write down exactly what you need. If it’s not on the list, it doesn’t enter the cart.

The Reflection: How does it feel to close a tab without “browsing” the recommended items?

The 48-Hour Rule. Marketing thrives on “limited time offers.” It wants you to act before your nervous system can settle.

The Action: Create a “Wait List” in your journal or on a simple piece of paper. When you feel the urge to buy something “new,” write it down and wait 48 hours.

The Discovery: After 48 hours, look at the item again. Does it still feel like a “need,” or has the marketing spell worn off?

Program Fatigue. We often buy courses, programs, or “hacks” because we believe we are a problem that needs fixing.

The Inquiry: Look at the last “program” or self-improvement tool you purchased. with This Journey

To move through this practice, find a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted for a few moments. Read each section slowly, letting the words land before moving to the next.

This is not a task to be done; it is an experience to be felt. When you see a section break or feel a particular line resonate, take a full, deep breath and let the silence settle. Allow your own rhythm to guide the pace.

Step 1: The Arrival

Gently find a position that allows your body to begin to soften. There is nothing to achieve in this moment, nowhere else you need to be. Close your eyes down if that feels good for you, or simply allow your gaze to go soft and unfocused.

Go ahead and place your hands wherever they feel most natural and take a deep, slow breath in and as you exhale, begin to imagine the weight of everything you’ve been carrying gently being lifted off your shoulders.

Feel it begin to dissipate like a soft mist in the morning sun.

With every breath out, you are becoming lighter. Your shoulders drop an inch further from your ears. Your jaw softens. Your forehead smooths. You simply exist in the clear, open space you’ve created for yourself.

You are light. You are here.

Step 2: The Return to Wholeness

In this stillness, remember the truth that has always been here: you are already whole, you are already complete, and you are already enough.

There is nothing you need to “do” to remember this truth.

Beneath the noise of the world and the expectations of the day, there is a quiet center that is calm, clear, and complete.

You don’t need to add anything to yourself to be worthy of this peace. You don’t need to search for a better version of you. You are simply coming home to the essence of who you have always been.

Feel that wholeness radiating from your heart, filling the room with a gentle, steady light.

You are worthy, just as you are, in this very breath.

Step 3: The Space to Choose

And as this light settles within you, notice how it creates a new kind of space.

A space where you are free to simply choose.

Choosing yourself doesn't have to be a grand leap or a loud declaration. It is a quiet, internal pivot. It means taking one, slow, steady step toward your own light.

It is the quiet “yes” you say to your own needs without demands of the world telling you what you “should” do or who you “should” be.

Step 4: The Inner Sanctuary

Let this feeling of choice carry you even deeper into your own inner sanctuary. Allow your mind to wander to a place of pure, restorative rest.

Envision a path through a field of flowers in bloom. See the colors—soft lavenders, deep golds, and pale whites—each petal gently illuminated by the soft, steady light of your own essence. You don’t need to see the end of the path. You only need to see the very next step beneath your feet.

What does it feel like to choose yourself in this garden of ease? What does it feel like to move toward peace instead of friction? In your mind’s eye, see yourself taking that one step.

It is light. It is certain. It is yours.

Step 5: Authoring Your Future

You are the author of this new story. You have everything you need for the journey ahead, and you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Go ahead and take one more deep breath in, filling your chest with the knowing that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. And when you are ready, gently return your gaze, bringing this light back into the room with you.

You have taken the first step. The rest is already handled.

You can rest in the ease of knowing that it is done, you are on the path.

Soulful Reflections

The Tangible Step: What is one “micro-action” you can take today that feels like the smallest step towards peace?

Take a moment to jot down whatever comes to mind in your journal. Peace

A space to honor where you’ve been before you decide where you’re going.

Before we clear our physical space or plant our new intentions, we must first look at the soil we’ve been standing in. The holiday season often asks us to override our own signals to meet the needs of the world around us. This inventory is your chance to listen—without judgment—to what those experiences left behind.

I invite you to get out your favorite journal and find a quiet corner where you won’t be interrupted. As you sit with the prompts below, let your pen move across the page without the pressure to be perfect or "right."

The Reflection Prompts

Noticing Your Internal Rhythm: Looking back on the recent weeks, how is your body responding today? Do you feel a need for extra sleep, a softness in your energy, or a desire for more rest? There is no “wrong” way to feel; just acknowledge where you are today.

The “Light” Inventory: What were the moments that felt truly effortless? Perhaps it was a quiet cup of tea, a specific conversation, or a moment of stillness amidst the noise. What made those moments feel like “peace”?

The “Push” Inventory: Where did you find yourself “pushing through” your own need for rest? Identify one or two moments where you felt out of sync with your own rhythm to meet an expectation or a tradition.

The Energy Leak: Looking back at your holiday routines, what specific task or expectation felt the most draining? If you could gently set that down, how would that feel for you?

The Permission Slip: What is one thing you did over the holidays that you realize you only did out of a sense of “should”? Can you offer yourself a permission slip to leave that specific “should” in the past year?

The Spark in the Dark: Even in the busiest seasons, there is often a small spark of something we want to carry forward. Was there a specific feeling, a word, or a tiny ritual that made you feel more like yourself?

Closing the Chapter: What is one belief or habit from the holiday season that you are ready to leave behind before you walk into your own quiet winter and season of becoming?

<a Ritual

A gentle guide to the One-Room Reset.

There is a profound peace that comes from matching our outer environment to our inner intention. After the holiday decorations are put away, the house can sometimes feel a bit sparse or out of sync. This ritual isn’t about deep cleaning; it’s about refreshing the energy of one specific corner of your life.

Step 1: Choosing Your Nook

You don’t need to clear the whole house today. Choose one small “anchor” space—your bedside table, your favorite chair, or your desk. Where do you spend your quietest moments? This will be your sanctuary for the winter.

Step 2: The Soft Sweep

Gently remove anything that feels like it belongs to “last year.”

Holiday cards that have served their purpose.

Piles of paper or mail that feel like “noise.”

Objects that carry a sense of “should” or “busy-ness.”

As you move these things, imagine you are simply clearing the air so your new intentions have space to breathe.

Step 3: The Energetic Reset

Once the surface is clear, invite a new frequency into the room.

Open a window: Even for just three minutes, let the crisp winter air move the stagnant energy out.

A scent of peace: Light your favorite candle or use a soft room spray.

Wipe the slate: Use a damp cloth with a drop of essential oil to physically wipe the surface, acknowledging that this space is now “new.”

Step 4: Adding the “Anchor”

Place one small item back into the space that feels like the woman you are becoming.

A single crystal or a smooth stone.

A fresh sprig of evergreen or a dried flower.

A favorite book you intend to read this month.

Your new Word of Intention written on a beautiful piece of paper.

Sit in your cleared space for five minutes. Intention

The Sacred Space of Becoming.

In the heart of winter, nature is busy doing the most important work of all: holding a vision of what is to come. Beneath the frost, seeds aren’t just waiting; they are gathering the energy to become. This is your time to do the same. We aren’t making “resolutions” that feel like heavy burdens. We are planting Intentions that feel like an exhale.

Part 1: Finding Your Word of Intention

A resolution is a task you have to complete; a Word is a frequency you choose to carry. It’s a gentle compass that nudges you back to yourself whenever the world starts to feel a little too loud.

The “Quiet Whisper” Exercise: Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Don’t think about what you should do this year. Instead, think about how you want to feel.

Write down 3-5 words that make your heart feel a little lighter when you say them out loud:

________________

________________

________________

________________

________________

Now, circle the one that feels like a warm invitation. This is your seed for the year.

Part 2: The Quiet Dreaming

Modern life tells us to “plan” and “execute.” But winter invites us to simply dream. This is a time to gather images, colors, and textures that reflect the woman you are becoming, without the pressure to “achieve” them yet.

How to Play:

The Digital Dream: Spend a quiet hour on Pinterest. Search for images that reflect your Word of Intention. Don’t overthink it—if a photo of a sun-drenched window, the texture of a soft linen blanket, or a flickering candle makes you feel peaceful, pin it.

The Physical Anchor: If you prefer the physical over the digital, create a “Sanctuary Tray.” Find a small tray or a beautiful plate and gather a few items that reflect your Word of Intention. This isn’t about “decorating”; it’s about gathering textures and touchstones that ground you. You might include:

A specific fabric scrap (like soft linen or silk).

A dried flower or a stone from a meaningful walk.

A candle in a scent that feels like “home.”

A written note to yourself with your Word of Intention.

Place this tray in your cleared nook as a physical reminder of the peace you are cultivating this season.

The “Slow Build” Rule: You don’t have to finish this today. Let it be a living, breathing project. Add to it as the winter unfolds.

Part 3: Dreaming Into the Light

Sit with your chosen Word and your growing vision. Use these prompts to help your intention take root:

The Feeling: If I lived my life entirely in the intention of my Word, what is the first thing I would notice about my mornings?

The Becoming: Who is the woman I see in my vision board? What is one small way I can begin to embody her “energy” today, even while I am still in my winter rest?

The Soft Step: What is one beautiful thing I am looking forward to seeing “bloom” in my life once the sun returns?

You don’t need to know the “how” yet. Your only job right now is to protect the “what.” Let these visions sit in the quiet of your heart. They are safe there. They are growing.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" Rhythm

A Calendar of Sensations.

In the world of “doing,” calendars are often filled with deadlines and demands. But in the Sanctuary, time moves slower. This isn’t a space to track how much you’ve achieved; it is a space to track how well you have listened to your own rhythm. This “un-calendar” is designed to help you notice the subtle shifts in your energy and the small, beautiful ways you are tending to your soul while the rest of the world is pushing.

The “To-Feel” List

Instead of a “To-Do” list, we are creating a “To-Feel” list for your winter. Each day, don’t worry about what you accomplished. Simply notice if you invited in a moment of:

Warmth: Did I feel the heat of my tea, the glow of a candle, or the softness of a blanket?

Stillness: Did I find even five minutes to sit in the quiet without a screen or a plan?

Softness: Was I gentle with myself today when I felt tired or out of sync?

Light: Did I seek out the UV light, the morning sun, or a glimmer of inspiration?

Tracking Your Internal Light

Below is a non-linear space for you to mark your progress. You don’t need to do this daily. Use it whenever you feel a moment of Becoming.

Tracking Your Internal Light

How did I honor my rhythm today?

A Moment of Rest How I invited it in: (e.g., I took a 20-minute nap when my body asked for it)

A Moment of Vision How I invited it in: (e.g., I added a beautiful image to my Pinterest board)

A Moment of Nourishment How I invited it in: (e.g., I made a slow-cooked soup that warmed me from the inside)

A Moment of Sovereignty How I invited it in: (e.g., I said 'no' to an invitation so I could stay home and read)

There is no “behind” here. Rituals

A Menu of Comforts for the Quiet Season.

Hygge is not a goal to be reached; it is an atmosphere you create. It is the simple act of choosing comfort, warmth, and presence when the world feels cold or rushed. These prompts are meant to be a menu of invitations. You can pick one when you need a moment of peace, or simply read through them to remind yourself that you are worthy of your own care.

Morning Rituals: The Slow Start

The First Light: Light a candle while you make your morning tea. Let the flame be the only “stimulation” your mind receives for the first ten minutes.

Warmth for the Future: Spend five minutes mindfully making your bed. Imagine you are tucking a “love letter” into the sheets for the woman who will return here tonight, tired and ready for rest.

The Gentle Wake-up: Before reaching for your phone, gift yourself a few minutes of intentional breathing and quiet meditation. Notice how it feels to inhabit your own inner space before the world asks anything of you.

Evening Rituals: The Soft Close

A Sanctuary of Scent & Stone: Create a ritual of “closing the day” with a scent that makes you feel safe. This might be a light mist of lavender on your pillow, the soothing steam of fresh herbal tea, or the quiet act of placing a small amethyst crystal beneath your pillow to anchor your intention for restful sleep.

The Digital Sunset: Choose a “tech-sunset” time. Put your devices in another room and spend the final hour of the day by candlelight or soft lamplight.

Comfort in a Cup: Create a “signature” winter drink—maybe it’s warm milk with honey, a specific spice tea, or cocoa. Sip it slowly, noticing the warmth in your hands.

Sensory Anchors: Finding Magic in the Ordinary

The Winter Bath: Turn off the bright overhead lights. Use only a candle or the glow from the hallway. Add Epsom salts and just... be. No book, no podcast, just the water.

Cozy Immersion: Build a nest on the sofa with your softest blankets and your pets. Choose a “low-stakes” movie or a book you’ve read a dozen times—something that feels like a warm hug for your mind.

The UV Glow: If the day is gray, sit with your UV light for 15 minutes. While the light works, close your eyes and imagine the sun-drenched version of the woman you are becoming.

Which of these feels like a “yes” in your body right now? You don’t need a perfectly curated home to practice hygge. You only need the intention to be kind to yourself. Choose one. Breathe. Soften.

Thank you for being here, and for choosing to walk this path of the slow build with me. I hope this guide offers you a small pocket of peace in a world that often asks for the opposite. If you feel moved to share, I would love to hear your Word of Intention in the comments below—or simply leave a “soft hello” to let me know you’re here.

Hey there!
